About our Service

We are St. George Accommodation for Youth Limited with a proud 30 year history of supporting young people from within the St. George and Sutherland areas

We specialise in Case Management and Accommodation Support for young people aged between 16 and 25 with complex needs 

  • we provide Specialist Case Management to young adults who are managing their Mental Health and/or those with complex needs
  • we provide this support to young people who are at risk of becoming homeless or to young people who are already without a home
  • we welcome referrals from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD)
  • we work together with government and non-government support services such as FACS – Housing NSW, Centrelink, St. George Mental Health and other local partners
  • to help prevent homelessness, we work together with the  SHS – Specialist Housing Services sector, families and other housing providers, including private rental

Sustainable Tenancy Program for those aged between 16 and 25 who are currently homeless or at risk of homelessness

  • tenancy support  is provided to all young people 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, through our Sustainable Tenancy Program
  • support is provided for young people to seek and  sustain successful tenancies – this means practical help to find or keep their accommodation, including follow up and outreach support
  • tailored and delivered to individual needs,tenancy workshops are available to both young people and their support services

Share-It – a resource for young people and for those working with them

  • see our Share-It manual on our Resources page – preparing young people to successfully share housing
  • designed as a training resource for SHS support workers and their clients, Share It can be adapted for use by anyone who wants to make shared housing a success
  • Share-It can also be used in conjunction with Housing NSW’s  Rent It, Keep It program as a complementary resource to assist in both finding and keeping accommodation
